Due to nationwide supply chain issues, the requirement of Customer Installation Standards manual, section 9.1.2.1, line 14: “All Underground Connected meter sockets and power panels shall be side-wired” will be relaxed for projects with a lead time less than 15 weeks or in the event of emergency replacement until December 31,2025. UL-rated meter bases that are designated by the manufacturer as designed for OH AND UG will temporarily be allowed for UG service. All other requirements of section 9.1.2.1 will be required. This temporary change will expire on December 31, 2025. The availability of side-wired meter bases will be reviewed again in December.
