Smart Direct Load Control Pilot Program
Connect your smart thermostat and get rewarded
The Entergy Arkansas Smart Direct Load Control Program is offering incentives to residential and business customers who enroll in the program and have an eligible smart thermostat.
Why should I enroll my smart thermostat?
Receive incentives
Customers who participate will receive an incentive at enrollment and a participation incentive at the end of each year.
Help reduce high energy demand
Your participation will help prevent outages, maintain current energy supply and preserve the natural environment by requiring less electricity production.
Is my thermostat eligible?
Entergy Arkansas residential and small business customers who own their home or business, have central air conditioners and have Wi-Fi are eligible to participate in one of two ways. One option is to enroll your existing smart thermostat; eligible thermostats are listed below:
Copeland Sensi Touch, Sensi Touch 2 or Sensi smart thermostat
Honeywell Home T5, T6 Pro, T9 or T10 Pro smart thermostat
Honeywell Home 9000 Smart Color Touchscreen, FocusPRO® or The Round® smart thermostat
Multiple thermostats are allowed to be enrolled in the program if all thermostats are mapped to one air conditioning unit. Heat pump systems are eligible for enrollment; mini splits and zoned systems are not.
If you are participating in the Summer Advantage program but wish to have a smart thermostat installed, first you must call 1-866-224-7812 to have your air conditioning control switch removed.
Can I participate if my thermostat is not eligible?
If you don’t already have a smart thermostat, enroll to receive a new Copeland Sensi Touch smart thermostat with free professional installation – a $350 value. In addition to the thermostat, you’ll receive a participation incentive at the end of each year.

How does it work?
Enjoy effortless savings by enrolling in the Smart Direct Load Control Pilot Program and help reduce high energy demand when it counts most – during the summer months when tens of thousands of central air conditioning systems are all running at the same time. The demand for energy can put a strain on the power supply. That’s where you come in.
When you join this program, a signal will be sent to your enrolled thermostat to automatically adjust the temperature setting by two to four degrees on days when electricity demand is highest, helping to reduce demand when it counts most.
Between June 1 and Sept. 30 each year, your enrolled thermostat will alert you when an energy- saving conservation event is underway and provide the time an event is scheduled to end.
Events are only held on weekdays; not on weekends or holidays. By allowing Entergy to slightly increase your thermostat’s set temperature, you can cash in by earning participation incentives.
Bottom line: The Smart Direct Load Control Program is a win-win for everyone. Don’t wait to start saving.
